Early Thursday morning, Sedalia Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle not properly displaying a registration plate near the area of South Osage Avenue and West 7th Street. During the course of the investigation, it was determined the driver was intoxicated and had a revoked driving status. Aifan A. Raed, 51, of Sedalia, was arrested and transported to the Sedalia Police Department. There, he provided a breath sample that showed his BAC to be above 0.08. Raed was transported to the Pettis County Jail where he was booked on charges of Driving While Intoxicated (Prior Offender) and Driving While Revoked.


 

Monday morning, Officers performed a traffic stop on a Lexus passenger car, as the vehicle did not have a front Missouri license plate. The traffic stop took place in the area of South Limit Avenue and Plaza Avenue. Officers spoke with the driver and a single occupant and performed computer checks on their identifying information. Then, Officers learned the driver had two Failure to Appear warrants for his arrest. Oleg A. Mironov, 27, of Sedalia was arrested for his FTA warrants on original charges of Stealing and Fraudulent Use of a Credit Device, which carried a $15000 cash or surety bond and Possession of a Controlled Substance, which carried a $2000 cash and $2500 cash or surety bond. Mironov was transported to the Pettis County Jail.


 

Sunday night, Officers stopped a car for improper registration in the area of West 3rd Street and South Limit Avenue. After an investigation, it was determined the driver was intoxicated by drugs. Kristy Marie Meyer, 42, of Sedalia, was taken to the Police Department, then the hospital, and then the Pettis County Jail. Meyer was booked on charges of Driving While Intoxicated by Drugs, Failure to Register Annually with the DOR, and Failure to Maintain Financial Responsibility. Meyer was released pending state charges.


 

Sedalia Police stopped a car in the area of West Broadway Boulevard and South Sneed Avenue for several moving violations Friday evening. The vehicle also showed indicators of impaired driving. Corey Allen Bolling, 34, of Sedalia, was found to be intoxicated by drugs. Bolling was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail, where he was booked and released on a state charge of Driving While Intoxicated (Drugs).


 

Officers stopped a vehicle in the area of East 16th Street and South Ohio Avenue Sunday morning for a traffic violation. During the stop, the operator was determined to be intoxicated. Further investigation found the operator's BAC was over 0.08 %. Michael Dale Kearney Jr., 29, of Edwards, Missouri, was arrested without incident and charged with municipal Driving While Intoxicated.


 

A call of domestic assault led Officers to dispatch to the 700 block of East 10th Street Sunday evening. Upon arrival, the victim was located after being able to get to a neighbor's house. They were able to call for help from the neighbor's house. A juvenile was reportedly still in the residence with the suspect. Officers were able to locate the suspect, and the juvenile, and determined an assault did occur on both the juvenile as well as the adult victim. Juan J. Mendoza, 43, of Sedalia, was arrested on charges of Domestic Assault in the 2nd Degree and Endangering the Welfare of a Child in the 2nd Degree. Mendoza was transported to the Pettis County Jail, with bond to be determined.


 

On the night of November 27th, Officers performed a traffic stop on a red Ford truck, because the vehicle had a defective side tail light. Also, the Missouri plates expired in March of 2022. The traffic stop took place in the area of South Limit Avenue and West 14th Street. Officers spoke to the driver and the passenger, and performed a computer check of their information. It was learned the driver had a suspended license. Jonathan Wayne Ayers, 36, of Sedalia, was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail, where he was placed on a 24 hour hold with bond and court date to be determined.


 

Sunday evening, Officers were dispatched to the SPD lobby for a report of found property. Jared Driskel had found a small box that contained Christmas Lights in the area of West 24th Street and South Ingram Avenue. The box was labeled as a parcel addressed to a government office in Warrensburg, Missouri. The box with contents was placed into evidence holding for safe keeping.


 

Sunday afternoon, Officers responded to the 2400 block of West 3rd Street for a property damage report. Officers met with Kendall M. Thiesse, who reported damage to her shed with spray paint. The damage was valued to be a cost of $50. At the time of the report, a suspect has not been located.


 

Officers responded to the 1200 block of East 6th Street Sunday morning in reference to a theft. Eric Wayne Christensen reported a stolen motor scooter. The scooter was taken from a residence in the area sometime within the past week. The value of the scooter was estimated at approximately $1600. No suspects have been identified at this time.


 

On the afternoon of November 22nd, Officers performed a traffic stop in the 1300 block of South Park Avenue on a gray 2013 Toyota Camry. The vehicle initially stopped, then fled. A short pursuit took place, but was terminated based on the total conditions. At the time of the report, the suspect has not been located.


 

Sedalia Police were dispatched to the Hampton Inn, 3909 West 9th Street, in reference to a hit and run accident Sunday morning. The hit and run accident occurred between the night of November 26th and the morning of the 27th. Officers were told a parked gray in color 2020 Ford Escape was struck by another vehicle that left the scene. The Ford had damage to the right rear end. The investigation is ongoing.


 

Saturday afternoon, Officers responded to the BRHC ER for a report of a dog bite that had occurred at the Liberty Park, 1500 West 3rd Street. Officers met with Dean H. Carr, who stated he was walking his dog when it was attacked by a stray. Carr attempted to pick up his own dog, and was bitten by the stray in the process. A report was completed to document the incident.


 

Officers met with a subject who brought in a debit card to the Police Department Saturday afternoon. The card was located in the area of East 3rd Street and South Washington Avenue. The card was placed into evidence as found property.


 

Sedalia Police responded to the 1300 block of South Park Avenue Saturday afternoon for a report of a dog bite call. The dog bite occurred in the 1300 block of South Barrett Avenue. The dogs were located in the area. After speaking with the owners, the dogs were placed on temporary quarantine. At the time of the report, the victim did not want to pursue any charges. Further follow up will be completed by Animal Control.


 

Saturday morning, Officers performed a traffic stop on a white U-Haul transit van because Officers knew the driver's driving status was revoked. The stop took place on South Gentry Avenue near West 2nd Street Terrace. A computer check through Dispatch confirmed the driver to be revoked. The driver also had an additional six Failure to Appear warrants out of Pettis and Johnson County on original charges of Driving While Revoked (multiple counts), Driving While Intoxicated, Operating a Motor Vehicle Without Two Headlamps, Operating a Motor Vehicle Knowingly With out Two Headlamps, and Failure to Register a Motor Vehicle. Ronald J. Blum, 57, of Sedalia, was arrested on his warrants and another state charge of Driving While Revoked. Blum was transported to the Pettis County Jail pending a total cash only bond of $1450.00.


 

Early Sunday morning, a truck was stopped in the area of South Osage Avenue and West 6th Street because it was speeding on South Ohio Avenue. The driver was found to be intoxicated. He was arrested and taken to the SPD. Once at the PD, he resisted the Officer and refused to be placed in handcuffs. He was eventually cuffed. After processing, he was taken to the Pettis County Jail and placed on a 24 hour hold. Timothy Gladush, 20, of Sedalia, was held pending the following charges: Driving While Revoked, Resisting Arrest, Minor in Possession of an Intoxicating Beverage, Failure to Maintain Financial Responsibility, and Failure to Register a Motor Vehicle.


 

Friday night, a car was stopped in the area of East 13th Street and South Lamine Avenue for indicators of impaired driving. The vehicle was also failing to stop prior to the stop line, and failing to maintain the right half of the roadway. The driver was found found to be intoxicated and had a suspended state of Oregon license. Heldart Apinis, 34, of Sedalia, was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated, Driving While Revoked, and Failure to Maintain Financial Responsibility. Apinis was booked and released at the Pettis County Jail.


 

Officers responded to assist the Warrensburg Police Department with a theft investigation Saturday night. WPD provided suspect information and requested assistance in identifying the subjects in the vehicle. The suspect vehicle was located, stopped, and the suspects were identified. Information was provided to the WPD.


 

Saturday morning, Officers responded to the 800 block of South Limit Avenue for a report of an intoxicated driver. During the course of the investigation, it was determined the driver was intoxicated. Tammy L. Woods, 59, of Sedalia, was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated. Woods was transported to the Pettis County Jail to booked and released.


 

On the morning of November 21st, Officers responded to the Wal Mart store, 3201 West Broadway Boulevard, for a theft report. Officers met with an Asset Protection Coach who stated a subject pushed a cart out of the store with items inside. The items were not paid for, and the subject made no attempt to do so. The items were valued at approximately $298.00. The subject was identified, and state charges are being requested.


 

Last Tuesday afternoon, Officers were dispatched to the 2900 block of James Road for a report of a domestic disturbance. This was the third time Officers had been dispatched to that address that day because of an intoxicated subject who was harassing his ex-girlfriend and her neighbor. When Officers arrived they took the suspect into custody and transported him to the BRHC. He was evaluated and deemed fit for confinement. Brian B. Rayl, 31, of Green Ridge, was transported to the Pettis county Jail to be placed on a 12 hour safekeeping hold. Charges of Trespassing in the 1st Degree, Peace Disturbance in the 1st Degree, and Harassment are pending.


 

On the evening of November 25th, Officers responded to the 1000 block of West 3rd Street in reference to a property damage report. Officers spoke with Alex Brandt. Brandt stated in the early afternoon hours, his vehicle was damaged with eggs. No suspects have been identified at this time.


 

Friday afternoon, Officers were dispatched to a hit and run crash that occurred in the area of West 3rd Street and South Missouri Avenue. A 2009 Chevrolet Impala was driving eastbound on West 3rd Street when a pickup truck ran the stop sign at West 3rd Street from South Missouri Avenue, striking the front of the Impala, causing damage. No injuries were reported. The investigation is ongoing.


 

Sedalia Police responded to the 300 block of Scott Joplin Court Friday afternoon in reference to a possible disturbance. No one was injured from the incident. Officers were unable to determine a primary physical aggressor. A report was completed for a 12 hour domestic violence log. The involved parties agreed to separate for the time being.


 

Friday morning, Officers were dispatched to the 800 block of East 16th Street for a report of a burglary. When Officers arrived, they spoke with David L. Loveland. Loveland stated that sometime between Tuesday November 1st and Wednesday November 23rd, someone had forced their way into one of his rental properties, causing damage to the property and stealing items from inside. The estimated combined value of the damaged property and stolen items was $5,750. A suspect was named, but at this time was not located for questioning.


 

On the morning of November 24th, Officers observed a vehicle travelling westbound on West Broadway Boulevard that was speeding and did not have headlights on. A stop was conducted on the vehicle in the area of West Broadway Boulevard and Thompson Road. During the stop, the operator was determined to be intoxicated. Further investigation found the operator's BAC was over 0.08 %. Samantha A. Mittman, 32, of Springfield Missouri, was arrested without incident and charged with municipal Driving While Intoxicated.


 

Thursday morning, Officers observed a vehicle travelling on West Broadway Boulevard that was failing to maintain its lane. Officers conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle in the area of West 11th Street and South Grand Avenue. During the stop, the operator was determined to be intoxicated. Further investigation found the operator's BAC was over 0.08 %. Travis Dewayne Christian 39, of Sedalia, was arrested without incident and charged with municipal Driving While Intoxicated (Prior Offender). Christian was booked and released with charges pending.


 

Early Thursday morning, Officers were dispatched to the Fitters 5th Street Pub, 500 South Ohio Avenue for a reported assault incident. The suspect was located and detained after resisting with Officers. It was found the victim did not wish to pursue charges. The suspect was released from custody.


 

Late Thursday night, Officers were dispatched to the 1400 block of South Stewart Avenue for a reported hit and run accident. The suspect vehicle had already left the scene. Officers took information to complete a report on the incident. The suspect is unknown at this time.


 

Officers were dispatched to the Korner Lounge, 1604 South Ohio Avenue on the the night of November 19th. Officers made contact with Rebecca Lakemper, who stated that she left her car running to warm up, and when she came out to check on it, it was gone. A suspect has not been identified at this time.


 

Last Wednesday night, Officers conducted an investigative stop in the area of West 15th Street and South Missouri Avenue. Upon conclusion of the stop, one female individual was arrested for Driving While Suspended. Maria Trinidad Rubio-Leon, 29, of Sedalia, was transported to the Police Department. There, Rubio-Leon was processed and released with a summons.


 

Sedalia Police observed a vehicle turn from South Limit Avenue onto West 11th Street late on the night of November 19th without tail lights. The vehicle turned into the Burger King parking lot, 1101 South Limit Avenue, where it was observed "doing laps" to get drive times down. During the stop, the operator was determined to be intoxicated. Further investigation found the operator's BAC was over 0.08 %. The driver also had a suspended driving status, and an outstanding warrant for DWI from Pettis County with a $5000 cash or suety bond. Brandon L. Kalra, 40, of Sedalia, was arrested and transported to the Pettis County jail to be booked on the warrant, and new charges of Driving While Suspended and Driving While Intoxicated were filed.

Thanksgiving night, Officers were approached by Adam Timothy Shock with found property. A cell phone was located on a bench outside during the downtown fireworks display. The phone was collected and placed into evidence for safe keeping.


 

Officers were dispatched to a residence in the 100 block of East 19th Street on the afternoon of November 24th. A suspect, who had been arrested for trespassing earlier in the day, had retuned to the home. He was located near 16th Street and Ohio Avenue and taken into custody. Seth Andrew Farr, 30, Homeless, was arrested for Trespassing in the 1st Degree and placed on a 24 hold.


 

Last Thursday morning, Officers were dispatched to BRHC in reference to a property damage report that occurred earlier the previous evening at Chance's R Bar and Grill 303 South Lamine Avenue. Amanda McAteer reported an altercation occurred around closing time, and the reporting parties vehicle was damaged. The reporting party does not wish to pursue any charges. Officers also spoke with William Beeson, who said someone had broken the mirror on his 2005 Ford Focus at the same approximate time. The mirror was valued at $100.00. No arrests have been made at this time.


 

Thursday afternoon, Officers were dispatched to the 2900 block of Keith Allen Drive in reference to a disturbance between a couple. A primary physical aggressor could not be determined, so a 12 hour log was completed and put into place.


 

Officers responded to the 800 block of Ruth Ann Drive Wednesday evening for a report of theft. When Officers arrived, the suspect had already left. The subject was later located and interviewed. Lindsay D. Brown, 25, of Smithton, was issued a summons of Stealing.


 

Sedalia Police responded to the 700 block of South Ohio Avenue last Thursday morning in reference to a hit and run accident. Upon arrival, Officers met with the victim, who stated her 2022 Hyundai was struck while parked on the street during the overnight hours. The victim's vehicle had damage to the front driver side bumper, tire, fender, mirror and door. At the time of the report, the suspect has not been identified.


 

Last Tuesday morning, Officers were dispatched to the Smith Cotton High School, 2010 Tiger Pride Boulevard, for a report of theft. An iPhone was stolen, and has been entered into the NCIC and MULES as stolen.


 

Wednesday night, Officers conducted a vehicle stop at West 23rd Street and South Grand Avenue. All parties in the vehicle were identified and the driver was found to have suspended driving status. Samuel J. Biggs, 42, of Sedalia, was arrested for Driving While Suspended and transported to the Police Department. Biggs was fingerprinted and issued a citation with a curt date.


 

On the morning of November 21st, Officers initiated a traffic stop at West Broadway Boulevard and Industrial Road on a black Chevy passenger car because it did not have a license plate light. The Officer made contact with the driver, and Dispatch confirmed the driver had a revoked driving status. Vladimir Shalnev, 34, of Sedalia, was arrested for Driving While Revoked and transported to the Pettis County Jail to be booked and released.


 

Sedalia Police were called to the PD lobby last Wednesday afternoon to take a report of theft. Michael Butler reported a car and some tools were stolen from the 1000 block of South Lamine Avenue. The vehicle has been entered into the MULES/NCIC as stolen.


 

Last Wednesday afternoon, Officers were dispatched to the Police Station Lobby for a report of theft that possibly happened in the 3400 block of West Broadway. Angela D. Addcox reported that she noticed someone had stolen one of her license plates back in October. She stated she recently received a ticket in the mail for an incident that involved the stolen license plate. Addcox then chose to come in and make the report.


 

Officers spoke with a complainant in reference to a peace disturbance last Wednesday morning, The victim stated that someone performed a "burn out" in a nearby lot in a vehicle. The incident occurred in the 1200 block of East Broadway Boulevard. The noise and smoke disturbed the victim and her children. The driver of the vehicle was identified and peace disturbance charges are being forwarded to the prosecutor for review.
