In the case of all arrests, it must be remembered that the charge is merely an accusation and all defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.

Law enforcement activities

The El Dorado Springs Police Department responded to 143 requests for assistance this past week, Sept. 12-18. The requests were as follows:

Ambulance Assists 18, Animal Control 12, Assist Other Agencies 34, All Escorts 2, Nuisance 7, All Other Requests for Assistance 70, Summons 9.

Found Property is available for viewing, Monday through Saturday, by appointment only. A detailed description of the property you’re wishing to view must be specified when making the appointment. Found Property is subject to disposal after 90 days based on value of the property if unclaimed by owner.

Police Report

On September 13, 2022, officers responded to 1201 East Patricia Street, Apt# 4, concerning a disturbance. The investigation resulted in the arrest of Mark A. Cahill, 38, of El Dorado Springs, for the probable cause of assault and failure to obey a lawful request. He was released on summonses pending a court appearance.   

On September 12, 2022, officers responded to 501 East US 54 Highway, concerning a larceny. The investigation revealed the theft of 14 rusty cattle panels. A report taken and the investigation continues.

On September 13, 2022, officers responded to the 1301 West Industrial Parkway concerning a fugitive from justice.  The investigation resulted in the arrest of Noah S. Homer, 31, of Springfield, Missouri, for a State Probation and Parole Warrant with no bond. He was transported to the Cedar County Jail pending a court appearance. 

On September 16, 2022, officers arrested Matthew j. Richards, 31, of El Dorado Springs, for El Dorado Springs Municipal Warrants charging him with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Shoplifting with a $213.00 bond. He was transferred to the Cedar County Jail pending bond and a court appearance.

On September 17, 2022, officers responded to 1100 South Main Street concerning a larceny.  The investigation revealed the theft of a black steel wagon. A report taken and the investigation continues.

On September 18, 2022, officers received a report of larceny in the 200 block of East US 54 Highway. The investigation revealed the theft of US currency from a green bag. A report taken and the investigation continues.
