Argyle Car Show set for Aug. 13

Argyle trustees at their last meeting gave their blessing to the Argyle Knights of Columbus Car Show, which will be held on Aug. 13.

Mayor Ryan Davis saw no issue with approving the event since it was such a big success last year.

In other business, Davis brought in the contract with Mid Mo Operations that included two items that trustees had not known.

The first item was that the contract is a year-based agreement and that it can be terminated at any time if written notice is signed by both parties. The second item is that the pumps on the other side of the creek are not listed on the contract. Davis did not think that those pumps being covered was a huge problem since they do not usually require constant checking and have a red flashing warning light when they are having problems.

• Argyle’s welcome sign has been reinstalled.

• The village expects the second portion of American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funding this fall. Argyle has set up a separate account for ARPA funding and will need to track invoices and expenditures separately from that account.

• Aggregate assessed valuation for the village of Argyle is $1,304,185.

• The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) repaired several of the culverts in town.

• Trustees approved the treasurer’s report that showed expenses for July ($2,851.92) and revenues ($2,790.21).

• Argyle had the following account balances: general ($34,026.17), ARPA ($16,298.40), and money market  ($63,916.20).

• The next meeting is set for Aug. 19 at 7 p.m.
