EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — The Ysleta Independent School District has appointed a new Parkland High School athletics director.
The district appointed Leigh McWhorter as the new athletics director and head football coach effective Friday.
McWhorter currently serves as a teacher and varsity offensive coordinator at Franklin High School. He has 20 years of experience in education and athletics.
He began his professional career in 1999 as a reading teacher and has since served as a teacher, coach, and coordinator.
He holds a bachelor's degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of Texas at El Paso.
