Barbara Lou Webb

Barbara Lou Webb, 86, passed away in Graham on May 11, 2022. A Memorial Service will be held Monday, May 16 at 11 a.m. at Eastside Church of Christ under the direction of McMillan-Satterwhite Funeral Home.

Barbara was born Sept. 25, 1935, in Graham to the late William Joseph Emerson and Eslita Mae Gregg. Barbara lived and grew up in Graham, graduating from Graham High School in 1954. She then lived in Giddings for 43 years. She was a teacher, counselor, principal, and mental health provider. Barbara received her PHD in Education. She was an educator for 56 years, retiring in 2013. Barbara was a worthy matron in the Order of the Eastern Star, past president of the TSTA, Delta Kappa Gamma Sorority, University Women of Lee County, The Child Welfare Board, and the Red Hat Society of Lee County. The highlight of Barbara’s career was being named an Ambassador to China for the United States.

Barbara is survived by her brother John Maynard Jr. and wife Garonia of Graham, sister Billie Kucherka and husband Clarence of Pearland. Nephews John Maynard III and Steven Kucherka, niece Lisa Maynard, great nephew Eric Maynard, five grandchildren, Tara, Donna Jo, Cody, Tiffany, and Michael. As well as six great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her two sons: Mark Allen Webb, and Joe Mike Webb.
