A joint town hall meeting with Missouri Main Street and ReDiscover Union has been rescheduled for Wednesday, May 15.
The meeting will take place at Union City Hall, 10 E. Locust St. from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Officials will share Missouri Main Street’s four-point approach to helping revitalize Union’s downtown commercial district, build a volunteer database and gather community input.
The meeting was originally scheduled for April 2, but concerns were raised about the event being held on the same day of municipal elections.
ReDiscover Union seeks to celebrate Union’s history while embracing modern advancements, according to an email.
Union recently received a grant from Missouri Main Street that covers a two-year period. It pays for a town hall meeting facilitated by Missouri Main Street Community Endowment Program staff. The meeting will form the basis for a “preliminary strategic work plan” and encourage volunteers to enlist in the downtown improvement program.
