Geneva Dugger
Geneva (Nall) Dugger was born at Ft. Lynn, Arkansas in 1936 to Melvin Lee and Senora Bell (Jones) Nall. She departed this life on Tuesday, April 16, 2024.
She grew up in Texarkana, Arkansas and graduated from Arkansas High School. Upon graduation from high school, she went to work for the State National Bank in Texarkana, and worked there until she and Cecil Dugger married in 1959. They moved to Mineral Wells, Texas where Cecil was a teacher of general science and biology at the Mineral Wells High School.
In 1960 they moved to Mt. Pleasant, Texas so Geneva could help care for her mother. One year later they moved to Lawton, Oklahoma where Cecil was an instructor of electronics and head of the Technology Department at Cameron Junior College. While there, Geneva acquired an Associate Degree and then commuted to Chickasha, Oklahoma where she received a Bachelor of Science degree at the Oklahoma College for Women.
In 1965 Cecil accepted a position at Oklahoma State University in Stillwater. Geneva substituted at the Stillwater High School and became A Grey Lady at the Stillwater Hospital. In 1968 Cecil received his Doctor of Education degree and they then joined a five-family OSU Education Team and moved to Thailand for two years.
While in Thailand they adopted their daughter Teresa. Upon their return to Stillwater in 1970, Geneva was a home-mom and worked for Payne County Youth Services and helped to oversee the building of their house. In 1976 they adopted their son, Jacob. In 1984, Cecil took a position in Jamaica, West Indies. They stayed there for one year, and returned to Stillwater where Geneva went to work at the Stillwater Jr High School as their financial secretary where she worked for ten years.
She retired in 1996 and then volunteered in the Hospital Gift Shop. Through the years she helped Cecil host Thai Students enrolled at OSU and hosted many other OSU Students and members of the Spring Valley Church of Christ.
Geneva is survived by her husband of 65 God- blessed years , two children: a son, Jacob Dugger and his wife, Ann, of Savoy, Texas; and a daughter, Teresa Swanbeck and her husband, Eric, of Lewisville, Texas; and four grandchildren: Aaron Dugger and his wife, Brittney, of Fort Worth, Texas, Petty Officer First Class, Samuel Dugger and his wife, Kate, of Denton, Texas, Robert Swanbeck and Imogen Swanbeck of Lewisville, Texas.
Visitation will be held in Farmersville, Texas on Monday, April 22, 2024, from 10am to 2pm at the Trinity Baptist Church. Funeral service will be held at 2pm at the church. Geneva will be laid to rest at the Pleasant Grove Cemetery outside of Farmersville.
