So you want to dance? Who are you going to call? Machol Houston!

Machol Houston will be teaching Israeli folk dance to students at The Shlenker School during a special morning program on May 14 for Yom Ha’Atzmaut. In the afternoon, the dance group will be at the Merfish Center, engaging the community with rikudei am (folk dance) during the J’s Yom Ha’Atzmaut celebration.

West Houston B’yachad has invited Machol Houston to perform and engage the community at its May 19 Jewish Festival, 1120 Dairy Ashford Rd. West Houston B’yachad is a consortium of synagogues – Chabad West Houston, Houston Congregation for Reform Judaism, Temple Sinai and Congregation Or Ami – and the JCC West Houston that come together for special programming.

Machol Houston also teaches Israeli folk dance in Seven Acres’ auditorium
for The Medallion residences.

While preserving our Jewish heritage through the joy of music and benefits of dancing, individuals are empowered to live healthier and happier lives.

The community is invited to participate in Machol’s third-annual International Israeli Folk dance Workshop Aug. 9 through 11. Details will be announced soon.
