As a member of the Belton Independent School District board, I have a suggestion to help the governor and lieutenant governor with the voucher system they want for Texas.

They both took in a ton of money promising to get it passed, and now they are going to hold Texas schools hostage until they get what they want. The problem is they still do not have the votes. Instead of wasting millions on specials sessions and ad campaigns there is a simple way for them to get this passed.

All they need to do is have language put into the bills that states any entity taking any taxpayer money for education will be subject to all the rules and regulations as the public schools with no exceptions. If they will do this I am sure their vouchers bills would pass. Just a thought. By the way each time this has been suggested they said no.
