It has been a month since Killeen ISD trustees met together in a regular session, and the agenda for Tuesday’s meeting indicates board members will have a lot of business to deal with.
Trustees did participate in a team building event during a workshop meeting Oct. 3, but, according to that agenda, no action was taken.
Tuesday night the meeting begins at 6 p.m. with regular Public Forum, in which any member of the public may speak for three-minutes, provided they sign-up appropriately before hand.
Trustees will deliberate on the Student Services Internal Audit Report for FY’23, prepared by an educational consulting and research firm to identify key areas for improvement within the district.
The annual review and update on the district’s bilingual and English as a second language program is also on the agenda for consideration.
Trustees plan to review revisions of board policy regarding purchasing and acquisitions as well as go over the cooperative purchasing management fees report for the 2022-23 school year.
In separate agenda items, board members will deliberate on a plan for philanthropic donation investing and spending as well as a supplemental lease agreement related to property on Fort Cavazos.
Trustees also plan to adopt a new district academic calendar for the 2023-24 school year and appoint a representative to the Tax Appraisal District of Bell County Board of Directors.
During the meeting, the board will hold a public hearing to hear comments on the annual Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas report with copies of the report available for reference.
Before adjourning, board members plan to deliberate a supplemental lease agreement related to Montague Village Elementary School on Fort Cavazos as well as discussions or updates on the property known as the Teleperformance building, cited to be the new headquarters for KISD administration and other facility needs.
Tuesday’s meeting will be held at the district’s Administrative Building located at 200 N. W.S. Young Drive.
