Karen Adkins, a beloved wife, mother, teacher, and friend, passed away on June 4, 2023 at the age of 70 after a courageous five-year battle with cancer. Her departure leaves a void in the lives of all who knew her, as her kindness, warmth and unwavering faith touched the hearts of so many.

Born on Sept. 3, 1952, Karen grew up in Houston, Texas, with her mother, Virginia White, sister Delinda Wilker, brother Mark White, and a large extended family. From a young age, Karen was surrounded by the love and support of her family, which laid the foundation for the compassionate and caring person she would become.

Karen's childhood in Houston shaped her character, as she developed a love and deep appreciation for the values of kindness, respect, and hard work. These principles guided her throughout her life and played a significant role in her relationships and contributions to society.

Karen was a devoted wife to her loving husband, Randy. Their marriage was a true partnership built on love, trust, and mutual support. Together, they created a home filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. Karen's unwavering commitment to her husband was a testament to the strength of their bond.

Karen was a dedication mother to her children, Mary and Sarah. She poured her heart and soul into their upbringing, ensuring they received the love and support needed to flourish. Karen's children were her pride and joy, and she cherished every moment spent with them, creating lasting memories and teaching them valuable life lessons. As Mary and Sarah grew older, Karen had the joy of witnessing their happiness as they found love and companionship with her son-in-laws, Ian and Michael. She welcomed them into the family with open arms, embracing them as her own children and cherishing the bond they formed.

As a teacher, Karen was known for her patience, compassion, and unwavering belief in the potential of every student. Karen's ability to connect with her students on a personal level was extraordinary, and she became a source of inspiration and guidance for many.

Beyond her roles as a mother and teacher, Karen was a true friend to those fortunate enough to know her. Her genuine kindness and empathy resonated with everyone she met, and she possessed a rare ability to make people feel seen and valued. Karen was always there to lend a listening ear, offer a comforting embrace, or provide words of encouragement.

Karen Adkins leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, faith, and selflessness. She will be dearly missed and forever remembered as a devoted wife, a loving mother, a cherished friend, and a woman of unwavering faith.

A memorial service to celebrate Karen's life will be held on June 12 2023 at 10 a.m. at the Integrity Funeral Home in Houston, TX. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to be made to Sandy Creek Bible Camp. (https://www.sandycreek.org/resources/donate/)
