Itasca School District Superintendent Michael Stephens has been arrested as part of an online sex sting operation.

Harris County Constable Alan Rosen revealed that 47-year-old Stephens engaged with an undercover officer, whom he believed to be a 15-year-old girl from Houston, through a social media app.

Stephens sent explicit photos, requested nude videos, and mentioned plans to travel to Houston for sexual acts. Constable Rosen says Stephens told the undercover investigator he was at work, and some of the photos appear to have been taken in his office. Rosen says during the conversation Stephens said he was planning a trip to Houston to engage in sex acts.

In a statement, Constable Alan Rosen urged parents to stay aware of what their children are doing online.

“You must make it a priority to know what your children are doing online,” Constable Rosen said.

“As you can see by this sting operation, there are dangerous predators out there grooming our children and can cause great harm.”

Stephens has been the Superintendent in Itasca for about a year, before that worked in the Mesquite school district and several others across the state. He was one of seven individuals apprehended in the sting operation.
