Phillips 66 honors 2023 Science/Math Teachers of the Year Phillips 66 Sweeny Refinery honored eight area high school educators- including two from Matagorda County teaching in the science or math fields with the 2023 Science/Math Teacher Recognition Award.
This ongoing program is a way for Phillips 66 to recognize outstanding educators and thank them for their dedication to their students in the classroom.
“Every person recalls that special educator who changed their love for a subject, or their life for the better,” said Jessica Follett, Phillips 66 Public Affairs Advisor.
“Phillips 66 partners with our local districts to ensure those dynamic people teaching in the science or math fields are recognized, because we want them to know their efforts are valued, and their students today could be our employees tomorrow.”
Each of the eight local high schools nominate their teacher of choice to be recognized by Phillips 66 and their respective school district at an annual luncheon and awards ceremony, which was held on May 22, at the Sweeny Community Center.
Each recipient receives a $1,000 personal bonus check and certificate.
