Please welcome Jacob Womack to our Zizzer Basketball family! Coach Womack comes from Springfield and will be our JV/Assistant Boys Basketball, Assistant Football Coach and the Study Skills teacher at the High School. Coach Womack is a graduate of West Plains High School. He then went to go play college golf at Evangel University. He has been a teacher and a coach for Springfield Public School District and has coached football, basketball and golf for each of the previous three years. Coach Womack is the son of our legendary head girls coach Coach Scott Womack. Coach Womack is very excited about the opportunity to come home, to teach, and coach!

Jay Spoonhour, the son of former Bears head men’s basketball coach Charlie Spoonhour a MSU Icon to this day, will be hired as an assistant coach under Dana Ford at Missouri State. Spoonhour, 52, was most previously the head coach at Eastern Illinois where he spent nine years before being let go following the 2020-21 season.

 

This Saturday There is a 3-person 18-hole scramble at North Terra Golf course in West Plains. The tournament is being put on by the West Plains Sunrise Rotary Club. You can sign your team up at North Terra Golf course that is located out BB HWY in West Plains just one tee time and it’s 10am.

The Mountain View Family Youth Center is having an adult softball league CO-ED 5 Men and 5 Ladies per team every Friday night starting July 7th and your team will play two games each Friday night sign up your team by June 20th the cost is 100 dollars per team. Willow Springs Thomas F Benyo Municipal Golf course will have a 2 person 18 scramble on Memorial Day Noon tee time 10 dollars for members each and 20 dollars for nonmembers each, sign up at the pro shop or show up early and sign up.
