(MONAHANS, TX) – Imelda Dominguez, the Monahans teacher who turned herself in to the Ward County Jail last week, has officially been charged with improper relationship between an educator and a student, a second-degree-felony, according to a probable cause affidavit from the Monahans Police Department.

At about 9 p.m. Wednesday officers were called to the 300 block of Quela Street about a suspicious vehicle and found Dominguez, 47, inside the vehicle with a student.

According to information in the affidavit, officers found Dominguez and the student partially clothed.

Authorities interviewed the student who admitted that he and Dominguez were having sexual intercourse when they were found by the officers on Wednesday night, according to the affidavit.

Dominguez was also interviewed by officers and reportedly admitted that she and the student were having sexual intercourse inside the vehicle.

Dominguez, according to a release from the Monahans Police Department, turned herself into the Ward County Jail on Thursday and was also placed on administrative leave by the Monahans-Wickett-Pyote ISD.
