(KTEN) -- High school baseball coach and teacher David Toon, who was arrested on child sex abuse charges last Friday, will be exonerated. That's the word Thursday form the suspect's attorney.

KTEN has obtained a probable cause affidavit from the Hunt County Sheriff's Office. It states that investigators have reason to believe that Toon continuously engaged in criminal sexual acts with a child under the age of 14.

The affidavit says the victim first reported the alleged assaults in 2014 and that Toon, who was employed by the S&S Consolidated Independent School District, declined interviews with investigators.

The court document also states that lab results indicate that Toon's DNA was found on the child's body and underwear.

Toon's defense attorney, Bob Jarvis, says he's innocent.

"We're going to fight this case, because it's not true. And we're going to show it's not true, and he's going to be exonerated," Jarvis said. "Unfortunately, once you've been charged with this type of offense, it's hard to get your good name back, and that's what's wrong."

KTEN will continue to follow this case as new details emerge.
