Dallas Cowboys yoga teacher opens her second DFW-area studio in Southlake

Melinda Nag and her husband, Jayson, have opened Soul Sweat Yoga in Southlake.

Melinda Nag worked in the Tarrant County district attorney’s office as a prosecutor for more than 12 years.

But it was her conviction for yoga that steered the young lawyer and her husband, Jayson, also an attorney, to change course. They opened a yoga studio in Fort Worth called Soul Sweat Hot Yoga in 2016.

Earlier this year, the duo opened another studio in Colleyville, but they recently moved it to Southlake, hoping to connect with those interested in their brand of hot yoga.

It was her dedication to the craft that aligned Nag with another loyal group of fans: the Dallas Cowboys.

Last year, she began teaching yoga to the team as part of their conditioning efforts. The connection was brought about by Cowboys veteran L.P. Ladouceur, who lives in Aledo and was a regular at Soul Sweat in Fort Worth, Nag said.

Nag hopes to be back at The Star in Frisco taking Dak Prescott and the rest of the team through yoga poses soon. In the meantime, she can be found at her new studio, now situated in the Central Market-anchored center, across the street from Southlake Town Square.

The location offers an array of classes, from Soul Sweat Sequence, which pulls inspiration from Bikram and Ashtanga flow, to Heated Vinyasa and Aerial Yoga.

The latter, in which students use hammocks to aid basic yoga moves, is one of the studio’s more popular classes.

A variety of membership packages are available and the studio holds a $10 cash community class weekly.
