Elderly woman gets major home makeover

EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — One elderly woman who lives alone in the borderland is getting a major home makeover.

It's all thanks to a team effort by the Junior League of El Paso and a nonprofit called Rebuilding Together El Paso.

Organizers of the event say it's a way to give back to the community.

Today is a glimpse of a new program that's aiming to involve more women in home repairs and construction.

"Working together like this, the women had to come together to plan, program, schedule PR and fundraising,” said Luby Prodanovic, with the Junior League of El Paso. “It's just a great way to learn to work together."

Luby says the Junior League of El Paso is made up of women who are professionals whose careers range from lawyer to teacher.
