TRINITY, Texas — One person is in custody after allegedly making pots on a school computer indicating a possible riot at Trinity Independent School District.

According to TISD, the post read of a "riot" taking place on the high school campus at 7:30 a.m. on Friday.

The district says there was an increased security presence, however, after further investigation, they deemed the threat "not credible."

The individual officials believe was responsible for the post has been removed from the campus and placed in custody.

According to the district, there was no time when students were in danger.

TISD superintendent John Kaufman released the following letter to students and parents on Friday:

Dear TISD Parents and Families,

Late yesterday afternoon, TISD was made aware of a posting on a school computer indicating a possible riot on our high school campus Friday morning, February 21, 2020 at 7:30 a.m.. As a result of this posting an increased presence of TISD law enforcement officers were at the HS. TISD administrators and the TISD police department have been actively investigating the posting and have determined that the threat was not credible. The individual responsible for posting the threat was removed from school and placed into custody. At no time were students in danger, but as an abundance of caution I wanted to inform parents.

Please stress to your children the seriousness of posting social threats. Trinity ISD will take all threats seriously and will prosecute anyone caught making those threats.

Thank you for your cooperation and if you have any questions please feel free to call your child's principal.

Respectfully,

John Kaufman

TISD Superintendent
