Police pressing charges against two Adkins Middle School students in pepper spray incident
Corpus Christi ISD police are pursuing assault charges against two Adkins Middle School students who released pepper spray on Monday.
Police Chief Kirby Warnke said he could not share the identities of the students because they are minors.
The school closed early Monday afternoon after the students sprayed the substance in the cafeteria. Principal Norma Cullum issued a statement recommending children shower and wash their clothes to dispel the odor and consult with a doctor if they experienced discomfort.
“Kids were in distress … and reviewing it, we had reason to believe and do believe it potentially was criminal,” Warnke said.
