Funeral services for Alexa Barrera, 7, set for Sunday, Monday in El Paso, Santa Teresa

Flowers and stuffed animals are placed outside Oran Roberts Elementary School on Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2019, in memory of 7-year-old first-grader Alexa Barrera, who was fatally struck by an SUV Wednesday morning while walking to school.

The funeral arrangements for Alexa Barrera have been set for Sunday and Monday.

The 7-year-old, Oran Roberts Elementary student died after being run over by an SUV Oct. 9 while walking to school with her 14-year-old sister.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 13, at Sunset Funeral Home, 480 N. Resler Drive. It will be followed by a rosary at 7 p.m.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 14, at the funeral home. The burial will be at Memory Gardens of the Valley in Santa Teresa, New Mexico.

The family requests that people wear bright colors because Alexa was a bright girl with a big smile.
