Allen ISD Superintendent Dr. Scott Niven announced on Saturday that he would be leaving the district to pursue other professional opportunities, officials said.
The Board of Trustees has named Robin Bullock as acting superintendent, according to press releases posted by the district on its website Saturday morning.
Bullock has served as an Allen ISD deputy superintendent and assistant superintendent since 2013, officials said. She previously served as the deputy superintendent for Midlothian ISD, where she began teaching seventh grade language arts in 2001.
Bullock has also served as an elementary school principal, assistant middle school principal, middle school principal and director of personnel for Midlothian ISD.
School trustees thanked Niven, who has led the district since January 2017, for his efforts and achievements and wished him well in his future endeavors.
Officials said the board would soon begin its search for a new superintendent.
